Carl Hester smashes British grand prix record
Thursday, 10 May 2012 13:05
Addington : Carl Hester broke the British dressage record by scoring a massive 83.298% to win the grand prix at Addington Manor Premier League show. He was riding the 11-year-old Metall/Inspekteur stallion Uthopia. Carl also filled second place aboard Fiona Bigwood’s Wie Weltmeyer gelding Wie Alantico scoring 73.54%.
But it was Carl’s night as he and “Uti” broke the previous British record of 82.93%, held by Laura Bechtolsheimer and Mistral Hojris since Olympia’s FEI World Cup class in 2010.
“It was just such a pleasure to be riding him again and to see him so excited to be back,” said Carl.
Utophia had to withdraw from Hagen CDI at the weekend after he lost a shoe in the field, but he was back on form, scoring highly, including his first ever 10 for piaffe.
Congratulations from Germany, too!

CARL HESTER - new partner of CASCO
Thursday, 10 May 2012 12:48
We welcome Carl Hester (GB), 2-time silver & team gold medalist of the European Championships 2011 and currently 4th in the FEI Dressage World Ranking to our team!
Carl Hester devoted his life fully and completely to equestrian sports. Today, he owes his career as one of the best dressage riders of the world in no small part to his love and enthusiasm for horses.
Carl is multiple British champion and winner of numerous medals at international Championships.
Carl was raised on the tiny Channel island of Sark, the island has no cars and horses are very much part of Sark life.. It is no surprise that Carl learnt to ride at young age, though the first equine to be subjected to Carl’s skill was a donkey.
Meanwhile, Carl Hester and his wonderful horse Uthopia are one of the top favorites for a single medal at the Olympic Games in London. As early as 1992 he was the youngest British rider to ever compete in an Olympic Games. Not least because of his patience, kindness and yet firmness when dealing with horses, Carl became the absolute dressage expert he is today.

We are thrilled to have such a joyful and great personality within our rows. A warm welcome to Carl!
Cooperation with dressage rider Hayley Beresford (AU)
Thursday, 10 May 2012 12:02
We are delighted to welcome the Australian dressage rider Hayley Beresford on board of the CASCO team. Hayley comes from Western Australia and has been in contact with horses from an early age. Both parents are successful riders and the whole family is dedicated to equestrian sports.
Due to her 'horsey home' Haley gained early horse experience and successfully took part in Australian tournaments. Hayley Beresford would not be Hayley Beresford, if she was content with that. Driven by her determination and ambition she took the reins and worked her way up to an internationally successful dressage rider.
She is professionally supported by her coach Herman Gösmaier and by the stable Zucht und Sportpferde Schmidt in German Westfalia. In addition to her athletic career, she works as a coach and successfully trains international dressage horses.
Hayley writes about the partnership with CASCO:
“Following some very serious accidents in our sport over the past few years I knew that I wanted to start wearing a helmet fulltime. It is a rule at Team HB that helmets are always worn on horses 5 years and younger but in actual fact, accidents can happen at anytime. As I am in the saddle for up to 12 hours everyday I needed to search for a helmet that was light, comfortable, airy.... and of course, we all like to look 'cool'.

I love my Casco range and have even been presented with a unique Australian design for competition. Team HB is very happy and grateful for our new sponsorship and looking forward to working together with our new partners at CASCO to promote a safe future for our sport!”

A warm welcome to Hayley & team!
